  • guys, murder is wrong.

A man is sitting on death row. When the state kills him will it be out of self-defense or as a flexing of the stated “god like powers?”

A nation is handling it’s people in ways we don’t approve of. By attacking and killing thousands to “protect” the people of the oil-laden land are we defending ourselves?

I cannot think of a logical justification for the murder our government commits on a DAILY basis.

  • Am I an Opportunist Bastard for this?

After doing a TON of research I’ve finally found a local charity I can support while running a promotion for my business.

    Marley’s Mission

They are great, and they have a great story! Here’s an excerpt:

“In July of 2009, at home with her family in a small Northeast Pennsylvania town, a 5 year old girl was brutally attacked in her own room by a complete stranger. Police immediately responded and captured the girl’s attacker.  He has been prosecuted and is currently serving a life sentence.

Immediately after the arrest, the outpouring of support from the community was overwhelming.  A fund was established for the benefit of the little girl and her family.  With these funds, the family moved from their home to try to start a new life.  As a longstanding wish of their daughter, the family also bought the little girl a horse.

After limited success with traditional therapy, a horse was infused into her daughter’s therapy regimen.  Immediately, a recognizable change was witnessed.  For the first time since the attack, the mother of the young victim saw a glimmer of her daughter that had not been seen since July 2009.

It was at this time that April Loposky realized that if a horse can have such a dramatic and positive impact on the healing process of her daughter, why couldn’t it help other childhood victims of abuse…  Marley’s Mission was born.” (read the rest here)

Here’s the first AD for the promotion, tell me what you think in the comments!

  • Something you may not know

Here’s a cell phone industry secret: the ONE AND ONLY reason salespeople will talk you out of an iPhone is because they are PAID MORE to do so.

When you purchase a phone, get the one you want, not the one they push on you.

Truth be told, salespeople care more about their paychecks than your satisfaction.

A Letter from Hobby Lobby Stores CEO
By David Green, the founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.

When my family and I started our company 40 years ago, we

were working out of a garage on a $600 bank loan, assembling miniature picture frames. Our first retail store wasn’t much bigger than most people’s living rooms, but we had faith that we would succeed if we lived and worked according to God’s word. From there,Hobby Lobby has become one of the nation’s largest arts and crafts retailers, with more than 500 locations in 41 states. Our children grew up into fine business leaders, and today we run Hobby Lobby together, as a family.

We’re Christians, and we run our business on Christian principles. I’ve always said that the first two goals of our business are (1) to run our business in harmony with God’s laws, and (2) to focus on people more than money. And that’s what we’ve tried to do. We close early so our employees can see their families at night. We keep our stores closed on Sundays, one of the week’s biggest shopping days, so that our workers and their families can enjoy a day of rest. We believe that it is by God’s grace that Hobby Lobby has endured, and he has blessed us and our employees. We’ve not only added jobs in a weak economy, we’ve raised wages for the past four years in a row. Our full-time employees start at 80% above minimum wage.

But now, our government threatens to change all of that. A new government health care mandate says that our family business MUST provide what I believe are abortion-causing drugs as part of our health insurance. Being Christians, we don’t pay for drugs that might cause abortions, which means that we don’t cover emergency contraception, the morning-after pill or the week-after pill. We believe doing so might end a life after the moment of conception, something that is contrary to our most important beliefs. It goes against the Biblical principles on which we have run this company since day one. If we refuse to comply, we could face $1.3 million PER DAY in government fines.

Our government threatens to fine job creators in a bad economy. Our government threatens to fine a company that’s raised wages four years running. Our government threatens to fine a family for running its business according to its beliefs. It’s not right. I know people will say we ought to follow the rules; that it’s the same for everybody. But that’s not true. The government has exempted thousands of companies from this mandate, for reasons of convenience or cost. But it won’t exempt them for reasons of religious belief.

So, Hobby Lobby and my family are forced to make a choice. With great reluctance, we filed a lawsuit today, represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, asking a federal court to stop this mandate before it hurts our business. We don’t like to go running into court, but we no longer have a choice. We believe people are more important than the bottom line and that honoring God is more important than turning a profit.

My family has lived the American dream. We want to continue growing our company and providing great jobs for thousands of employees, but the government is going to make that much more difficult. The government is forcing us to choose between following our faith and following the law. I say that’s a choice no American and no American business should have to make.

    Sincerely,
David Green, CEO and Founder of Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.

  • Theologians cafe: Dox’d

It took several years and browsing through hundreds of his thousands of posts, but I’ve finally figured out exactly who “theologians cafe” is. The answer may surprise you, on the other hand, it may just strike you as obvious.

First, we have to go back to when Xanga was a brand new site. Way back in 1999 before Xanga helped solve a murder case it was a book-review site and didn’t have weblogs until 2000. Which brings me to my next observation:

“Dan the theologian’s” profile credits him with being a member way back in 1995. How can that be?

Well, my friends, Thats because Dan is:

    The internet.

I apologize, this was going to be epic but I got bored with it fast.

Do any of you have stories to share about the Theologians cafe?

  • Obama has lost his mind.

Obama had a meeting of the minds on the 16th to talk about the fiscal cliff we are heading towards and what we should be doing to avoid it. As you’d expect, he gathered together some of the greatest economic minds in the country like… Jesse Jackson????

    Seriously?

    >>>LINK<<<

this has got to be a joke. Obama can’t really be taking advice from this idiot, on economics no less.

  • Not a good time to strike you idiots

Hostess is going out of business and laying off over 18,500 workers.

    Why?

Well, in one of the single stupidest moves ever made by union leaders and members, almost all of Hostess employees went on strike during an incredibly volatile period in the companies history. Hostess was filing for bankruptcy and was trying to re-organize and the union didn’t like the lowered pay.

“While the union says it is not right for the company to maintain its viability on the backs of workers, company officials said they were doing everything in their power to try and keep Hostess open.”

“In an interview with Fox Business, CEO Gregory Rayburn said many workers had already crossed picket lines this week to go back to work despite warnings by union leadership that they’d be fined.”

After the announcement to close Hostess down no comment was given my the Union leadership. Odd.

    Another win for Unions. *facepalm*

  • Obama wins, we all lose.

The title is a tiny but provocative, sure, the point if this post would remain the same had Romney won.

“Democracy is like three wolves and a sheep Voting for what they want to eat for dinner.”

That’s a great quote and it kind of sums up what democracy actually is. When you really sit down and think about it, your vote almost always strips somebody else of their liberty. And believe it or not your vote will most likely strip you of your liberty.

For example, the state of Washington just legalized marijuana for recreational use. A sizable majority of the population voted to allow that kind of use. Sounds like a big win for democracy right? Consenting adults can now recreationally use marijuana. They’re even allowed to grow marijuana if they choose.

But think about what they had to give up in order to do that. Marijuana will now be taxed at 25% from the manufacturer to the seller and then another 25% from the seller to the consumer. In other words, you have to give up your property in order to engage in your “right” to use marijuana.

    That’s not liberty, that’s theft.

And what about the victories yesterday in the gay marriage arena? Both the state of Maryland and the state of Maine, By popular vote, legalized same-sex marriage. Again, that sounds incredible. The government in those states are no longer restricting people from engaging in personal and private matters. But are they really?

Marriage, if you remember correctly, comes along with this little thing called a “marriage license.” Again, something The government requires you to pay for in order to engage in “free” activities. Not withstanding the fact that married couples get more rights than single people. There is a long list of things that married people can have that unmarried people cannot.

Is this freedom or liberty? Or is this a way for the government to legislate “morality.”

I’m not saying anything bad about gay people but you fought for the wrong thing! You fought to reinforce the idea that the government can give you benifits for doing what it wants you to do!

All this legislation, all these “freedoms” that we all received simply reinforced the idea that the government deserves and should be granted unlimited control of our lives and our money. And what makes it extra scary is that we all voted for it. We were given a choice of tyranny, it didn’t matter what we chose, because we would lose our rights anyway. We can “legalize” whatever we want, but it doesn’t make the compromise any more bearable for liberty minded people.

Because every single time you vote, you are stripping away the rights of you and the people around you by allowing the government to have control over every little aspect of our lives. By voting, you are allowing them to plunder our income and our property. You are putting your stamp of approval on slavery and theft.

You are allowing them to take what is ours so that we can have what is already ours.

  • I want the credit!!!!
