  • Batman = Anti-Occupy Wallstreet?

Watching the movie last night and it occurred to me, the director is REALLY making fun of socialism and the occupy-style rhetoric going around.

    It’s not a stretch, it’s pretty blatant.

Now some people are theorizing that the shooter may have been involved with a violent group known as the “Occupy Black Bloc”. Others are saying he was part of the Tea Party!

I don’t personally think the occupy theory holds any water, but it’s interesting to see how some news organizations try to spin absolutely everything.

  • Reading current social issues into movies is a pointless exercise. Depending on your point of view, you can spin it any way you want.

It’s just like people such as Rush Limbaugh who are trying to make out that since the villain of the Dark Knight Rises is called Bane, it’s trying to make the negative connotation between Bain Capital and Romney.
    Seriously!?

  • If I had to guess, I’d say the shooter was a Tea Partier. The Occupy Wall Streeters are a peaceful group. They’ve been screwed royally by the financial system yet they have never turned to violence (unlike the Tea Partiers who go all crazy cuz they might have to pay an extra fifty cents in taxes to help fund health care).

  • If you set in front of the “news” all day watching the left and right battle that would drive anyone insane or on anti-depressants. That is getting real old real quick.

  • It’s probably too soon to speculate as to his motives.  Many people jumped right in after the Tucson shootings, claiming they “knew” Jared Loughner was part of a right-wing posse.  That was dispelled by one of the victims, who WAS a member of the Tea Party.

  • Aye I saw on the news that somebody shot Batman?
Somebody give me an update…is that nigga okay?

  • I heard something about it following a story arc in the comic…

  • @i_am_not_short - I heard that too. interesting.
