  • I need to switch back to Linux

  • @Paul_Partisan - The OS literally made me a little sick to my stomach and beyond frustrated. I’m no slouch when it comes to computers but this was driving me absolutely insane.

  • Oh no! Can it be worse than Vista?

  • Whoa. And I thought Windows 7 was (and still is) a pain in my ass…

  • I have a Mac..life is so much more simple because of it

  • @andreas_d - I completely agree. In fact, I just discovered that GarageBand will teach me how to play the guitar…. how awesome is that! I’m getting lessons from Sting himself!!!!!!!

  • Next, my company will be rolling out Windows 8 touch tablets for everyone and we won’t get any work done. Hooray! (joking aside, I might throw it into a VM to play with it. It’s hard to get very excited though. I prefer Linux at home, but I’ll use Windows for some things. I just want it to work)

  • @luctamur - its seriously un-useable at this point. Their are a lot of bugs, but what really gets me is the lack of intuitiveness. The way you search for files has been replaced with one of the worst setups I’ve ever seen. Tell your job they’d be MUCH better off with iPads. I understand a lot of people are bias against Apple, but the iPad is the only serious tablet out there.

  • @justfinethanku - “its seriously un-useable at this point” That’s never stopped them before. :P Can’t really talk about it, but I’m half joking though.

  • I feel lucky I still have XP!

  • People are forgetting that it’s a typical Microsoft product cycle: bad (original Windows) –> not so bad (Windows 95) –> not terrible (Windows 98) –> bad (Windows ME) –> not so bad (Windows XP) –> horrible (Windows Vista) –> quite good (Windows 7).

Microsoft know that Apple is kicking their butt when it comes to operating systems so they push out hurried updates/new products and then turn around and have to fix them, realize it’s a complete overhaul so release a new product that fixes the glitches/issues with the prior version. They’re also racing to match Apple’s features and usually failing as Apple is built around intuitiveness, rather than the utilitarian method of Microsoft.
Either way, I’m probably staying out of the tablet market for now. They’ll be a Windows/Operating System 9 before too much longer.
