Global warming is almost nonexistent for over a decade study shows
Interesting stuff. A recent study shows that between 1997 and today the earth’s temperature has remained flat. No increase and no decrease. That’s over a decade of zero change.
“Since 1880, when reliable temperature records began to be kept across most of the globe, the world has warmed by about 0.75 degrees Celsius.
From the start of 1997 until August 2012, however, figures released last week show the answer is zero: the trend, derived from the aggregate data collected from more than 3,000 worldwide measuring points, has been flat.”

Maybe some of the things we are doing are helping. Personally, whether or not it is a hoax doesn’t really matter, because we should try to take care of the planet period. I am all for reducing emissions and trying to be more green.
wow, some will say this proves the montreal protocols bang on right….banning cfc’s made a difference and stopped global warming.:D

And from a New York Times October 15, 2012 article on climate change which states sea ice has melted by 5% over the past 5 years.
“The apparent low point for the year was reached on Sept. 16, according to theNational Snow and Ice Data Center, which said that sea ice that day covered about 1.32 million square miles, or 24 percent, of the surface of the Arctic Ocean. The previous low, set in 2007, was 29 percent.”

The United States Federal Government actually ran a budget surplus during the Cinton administration. This *proves* that American budget deficiet is a hoax.

@PrisonerxOfxLove - ummmm there are billionaires who call it a hoax to protect their financial interests. i’m not a climatologist and i don’t claim to know the answers but i have no hidden agenda other than i believe we need to protect our environment for ourselves and for future generations. i’m old enough to remember a time when beaches, parks, roads and parkways were littered with refuse. it was ugly. fast food containers were everywhere because people threw them out of their car windows. people left their garbage in parks. our society took responsibility with the national “Don’t be a litterbug” ad campaign and States began imposing fines for littering. Suddenly people could not smoke in subways and put their butts out on the floors of trains. of course there were the people who cried their rights were being trampled on. “The government shouldn’t restrict my right to toss my McDonald’s garbage onto the sidewalk in front of someone else’s house.” That’s the way some people thought back then. I’m old enough to remember L.A was the smog capital of the U.S. New York City wasn’t far behind and people rolled their car windows up on I-95 in New Jersey because the stench was unbearable. it didn’t help much to roll our windows up. some people don’t care but most do.
It’s not a hoax, adding CO2 to the atmosphere will have some effect…..but not everyone who is running around like chicken little saying we need to do something is correct.
In other words, AGW is a real phenomenon, but the idea that it will cause the end of civilization is an unsubstantiated hypothesis.
I feel happy that cows can finally fart in peace.
What’s a hoax is that human technology can’t develop to deal with it if the earth does warm too much. What’s REALLY a hoax is the cry to stop using fossil fuels. Okay, not a hoax, just pure idiocy.
Yes it was called Climate Gate! The biggest scam in history. All because they wanted a carbon tax.

@TheSutraDude - I lived in the “smog capital of the U.S.” I still live in L.A., but it’s a lot better now than when I was young. I remember researching an extra credit report on Los Angeles smog levels back in elementary school. In those days (1965) we had “smog days”, sort of like east coast “snow days” except we had to stay home from school because the pollution levels were so high. My eyes used to burn like mad. My sixth grade report was about the plans being made by the city, county, and state to correct this.
@baldmike2004 - I remember hearing about those smog warnings. I was in elementary school then too haha. It’s cool you wrote a report about it. It wasn’t too many years ago that there were still air quality reports and sometimes warnings in NYC.
