Who said this? *edit*
“I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian — for me — for me as a Christian, it is also a sacred union. God’s in the mix.”
**hint, you can copy and paste this quote into google for the answer.**
*EDIT: This has been up for a day now and there is absolutely no outrage in the Xangasphere… what’s going on guys? I thought we were supposed to hate people who said things like this, that’s “tolerance” right?*

But he is a black liberal so you still have to vote for him even when he says that. He isn’t an evil white Christian.
So…what does Obama’s quote have to do with anything? I mean, I get that there’s a big gay marriage debate, but there’s more important things going on, like two unnecessary wars and a collapsing global economy…
#oops
@bloggicus_maximus - It matters because it’s further evidence of the ineptitude of the man who’s currently supposed to be leading us out of those wars, and that crashing economy. It matters because his flip-flop should help us decide who we’ll vote for in the coming election so we can address those issues you speak of.
@IntoTheWind1 - I don’t plan on voting this cycle. Didn’t bother last time either. It’s all bullshit.
@bloggicus_maximus - that much I can agree with
@IntoTheWind1 - @bloggicus_maximus - Ron Paul.
@bloggicus_maximus - well said.
@mtngirlsouth - I’d sooner gouge both my eyes out with an icepick.
JESUS
@bloggicus_maximus - LOL UR JUST LAZY
@ShimmerBodyCream - GET BACK IN BED, I’LL BE THERE IN A SECOND.
@ShimmerBodyCream - I’d vote for him
@mtngirlsouth - Agreed, but I’m going with Romney. A vote for Paul at this point is a vote for Obama. Even his son is rooting for Romney.
@DrummingMediocrity - Problem is, a vote for Romney is a vote for Obama.
@justfinethanku - That doesn’t make sense. Romney is Oblahblah’s opponent.
I’ve been wondering why he gets a pass for this and people jump down the throat of a chicken CEO. Why do we hold fastfood restauranteurs to a higher standard than our politicians?
@DrummingMediocrity - A vote for Romney is a vote for a white Obama. And my liberal friend said that a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Romney. I can’t vote for either Romney or Obama. It’s like, how fast do you want America to die? Super fast (Obama) or just fast (Romney)?
He is so phony I cannot begin to tell you how much he makes me want to PUKE. I guessed who it was but I checked GOOGLE to make sure. Yup. The empty suit in the white house! May he be there only a few days more.
So I wonder when he’ll be boycotted by the left?
The only mystery left to Obama is how is it possible that his worshippers STILL haven’t figured out he’s just a politician. Just like every other politician who ever held office for the exclusive purpose of his own self-agrandizement. He will say whatever seems to be the thing most likely to make the most people happy at any given time.
The key words are “I believe” and “for me”. Personally I believe dudes are nasty and marrying one ain’t for me. But just as I don’t give a damn that my downstairs neighbor is marrying a really ugly bitch I could give a shit less that my upstairs neighbor plans to marry another dude. Anyway, I think that’s what our thin, neat, and obviously on-the-down-low President is saying in the quote above.
@IntoTheWind1 - I’d sooner prefer flip-flopping on social issues in favour of equality than someone who’d turn the entire country into his personal church, then take as much money as possible from educational matters and dump it into the Navy. When it comes to voting time, though, I’m writing in my own. The ballots are a fucking joke anymore.
Also, it’s important to point out that the quote in question was made in 2008. In 2009 Obama began pushing for equal rights for same-sex relationships and marriages. As much as we’re quick to assert someone is flip-flopping it’s also equally possible–even for politicians–to be honestly changed in mindset. Enough time has passed that it’s possible he legitimately feels that way. It’s also possible he’s just a politician.
I think we’re all pretty quick to assume politicians are out for only their own goals, and forget that they too are people. -shrugs-
Not saying anything other than this issue isn’t cut and dry. No more, no less (FTR)
We’re supposed to be outraged by a 4 year-old comment that’s no longer relevant? Really? Fail.
@RazielV - interesting opinion, considering what I’ve seen you write about less-important comments made by people running a fast food chain…
come on, you have got to admit that this chick-fil-a thing is not only slightly funny, but waaaaaaaaaaay hypocritical.
It’s because their liberal media told them to love him. It told them to hate Christianity (unless it conforms) too. That is critical thinking, you know. There are some things you must think, and others you must reject if you are to be a true intellectual who thinks critically.
@justfinethanku - Uh no. No I do not. Obama’s comment was made 4 years ago and in that time he’s turned it around, and actually worked to HELP the LBGT community. Back then, yes I was incensed and did not vote for him using that as one of my many reasons not to. You bringing it up now is invalid and totally irrelevant to the current issue. CFA openly and actively supports and funds organizations that promote intense anti-gay propaganda, were against Congress condemning the Ugandan “Kill The Gays” bill, as well as lobbied against anti-discrimination laws for gays in Pennsylvania.
So no, I’m going to politely say I think you’re wrong about it.
I agree with the comments above. Obama is only slightly less right-wing than Romney. I am hoping I get to vote for an actual liberal in 2016.
