  • Judge me. Seriously, judge me.

I have finally got a website up and running for my Wedding Video business. It’s not even close to complete, but I think it gets the point across.

    http://www.memoirstudioslimited.com/

Check it out and pretend you are someone interested in looking for a wedding videographer. Would you consider me based on this website alone?

    First question: From @Justfinethanku

Would you be interested in answering questions from an Anarchistic perspective?

    Answer:

[Jon] I think you’re more excited about the idea than most people are.  People seem mostly apathetic, and rightfully so.  They can be as knowledgeable as possible about politics and economics and still only have a single, almost meaningless, vote.  There is no incentive to engage, be rational, etc.  In a democracy (as opposed to anarchy) people have incentives to make informed life choices.  In a democracy they can vote for the most vile dictator and not have the incentive, financial or otherwise, to understand this.

Posts like these won’t be that popular because the purview of “ideas that change the world” are left to politicians most people know little to nothing about.  They are not allowed to change the world.  It’s not their lot in life.  Why challenge it?  And with what?  A vote?  No matter how much MTV suggests them to “rock the vote,” it’s not going to happen.  And even if they do “rock the vote,” what then?  A less informed moron could “rock the vote” and cancel them out.  It’s sad.

So don’t expect much from this.  Your faith in the wildfire that good ideas can be may be misplaced.  I don’t think anyone wants to take up the challenge.  Why should they?  They can’t do anything about it but be angry, to themselves, silently.

Could we violently overthrow the government if we convinced enough people that the plan was actionable?  No… because though undermining the government has it’s financial benefits (see the Mafia, drug dealers, pimps, etc) these very factions of people have to let the government in on their action.  Without crooked cops the Mafia wouldn’t exist.  Baptists and bootleggers have similar goals, cops and criminals form a protection racket that increases profit margins and makes their efforts worthwhile.

Is this a moral exhortations for cops not to be crooked?  That would be pointless.  No, it’s a statement of hopelessness that an idea can bind people to the extent necessary to REALLY CHANGE things.  What DOES bind people?  Money and power.  In revolutionary days we displaced the government of Britain for one of our own.  We exchanged one tyranny for another.  We are not allowed to go without tyranny altogether.

The opportunity cost of liberty for an individual is their very life.  Doesn’t sound like a promising endeavor when we are perfectly capable of getting on with our lives as partial slaves.  Yeah, they may accidentally raid our houses, kill our pets, while resisting would be unlawful, but why rock the boat?

What if people WANT to be subjugated??  Ever think of that??  Well, have you???

I am conducting a new blog series called: “Ask the Anarchist” featuring none other than our very own Libertarian Scholar George Edwards.

    HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

    • Once a week I am going to post an answer to a [one] question one of you have asked about anything related to: Politics or Economics. These questions can cover ANY range of sub-related topics.
    • In the comment section of the post you may feel free to ask further questions, ask him to clarify a point, argue with him, yell at him and call him whatever names you can think of **best insult may actually get a prize! You can use the comment section as a literal free for all! (Please be aware that George has been known to put people in a verbal headlock and choke them out, be careful with what you say, in other words, know what you’re talking about before calling him an idiot, he will bite back!)
    • Maybe we can all learn a thing or two about Economics, Libertarian-ism and Politics!
Let the free for all begin!

Post your questions or comments below and recommend this post if you want others to join in on the conversation!

  • Before you vote, read this:

    **PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING!**
Almost everything here is sourced out and linked to articles and I apologize for anything that isn’t. If you want more info on any of the subjects or people mentioned in this article I’d recommend Google as it will take less time to simply search for something than it will to ask me to provide the link and then wait for me to respond. You will notice my obvious bias right away, I am not trying to hide it but I am trying to put my personal opinions (based on the knowledge I have gained through research) out there. Please be civil in your comments, disagree all you want, argue, debate but DO NOT name-call on my blog, this includes both visitors to my blog and ANY of the candidates mentioned in it. Any comments violating this absurdly simple request will be deleted immediately.

    Barack Obama

Obama is one of the easiest to pick on merely because we’ve had a chance to see him in action. We were promised a few things before Obama was elected in 2008. We were promised a quick withdraw of troops from Iraq (within 16 months of him getting the presidency). We were promised Guantanamo bay and its insanity would be shut down and we were promised a balanced budget. We were also promised something Obama himself dubbed “sunshine before signing,” a system that was supposed to make the government more transparent to the public.

“When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as the president, you the public will have five days to look online and find out what’s in it before I sign it”

He promised “no jobs for lobbyists and went on to hire over a dozen on his campaign alone and at least 2 for cabinet jobs. He promised to end capital gains taxes, to reform our crazy earmark system, a $3,000 tax credit to businesses who hire new employees and he promised to put an end to the executive signing statements that give the president and his cabinet the ability to interpret new legislation in whatever way they see fit.

That never happened, none of it did. What has happened?

Obama has turned into a war hawk, signing the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) He’s raised the debt ceiling, imposed more taxes, started what is turning into a war with Iran and has passed legislation that will cripple our health care system even more than it already is.

    Mitt Romney

It goes without saying, if you like Obamacare, you’ll LOVE Mitt Romney. He is the one who started it all. Under Romney’s leadership, Massachusetts passed the same exact health care bill that Obama and his cabinet re-worded to apply to the entire nation. Since that bill premiums have gone up and state expenditures on health care have gone through the roof.

He increased taxes as well as government spending, he was an adamant supporter of the bailouts, supported even more gun control laws and has flip-flopped on everything from abortion to gay marriage.

What’s even more disturbing is where his campaign gets it’s money. He’s raised more money from lobbyists and huge financial corporations than even Obama, who previous to Romney’s campaign had received more money from these guys than anyone else!

(From Wall-street: Mitt Romney: $813,300 Barack Obama: $198,874)

    Rick Santorum

This guy is interesting for sure. He’s been the media punching bag for a week or so after making one increasingly odd statement after another. He’s actually a pretty conservative guy. His biggest problem, like so many of us, is his mouth. He supports un-constitutional measures like banning gay marriage on a federal level, engaging in even more overseas conflicts. His candidacy has fallen short because he can’t stop pissing off the left wing and the progressives on issues that the federal government should have no say in anyway and in his outspoken religious statements that have been outrageously hyped by the media. He’s pretty firm on a lot of things but he’s not a strong candidate by any measure.

    Newt Gingrich

As a lobbyist for Freddie Mac Newt Gingrich has done more harm for this country than good. He stands alone as the single most penalized person in politics for ethics violations and he has supported more big government spending than any other politician alive. Corrupt doesn’t adequately describe Gingrich but the word Evil begins to do the job.

After leaving his first wife when she was in the hospital with cancer he proceeded to cheat on his second wife when she was diagnosed with MS. When she refused an “open marriage” he left her to be with the woman he’d been cheating on her with. There’s not a whole lot more to say about Newt, he’s a big government guy who cheats on his wife and lobbies for huge corporations.

    Ron Paul

There’s a LOT to say about Ron Paul. He’s the guy who predicted the housing bubble in 2002, he championed auditing and ending the fed, he wants to eliminate the income tax and replace it with nothing, reduce our government spending, get the government out of being involved whatsoever with the Gay marriage issue, end the war on drugs and restore our currency to the gold standard. He exposed the bailouts for what they were and has been the biggest opposition to the patriot act and the NDAA this country has ever seen.

The guy is ignored by the media and yet still manages to maintain HUGE support from a large part of the American public. Despite the medias mis-representation, he remains the best candidate in terms of strong stance on the military (I mean seriously, he wants congress to declare war before engaging in it, what is weak about that?)  And as the ONLY military vet in the race he has garnered more support than all of the other republican candidates from the military, combined.

“America became the greatest and most prosperous nation on earth in large part due to our respect for free markets and limited Constitutional government. However, we’ve strayed from those sound economic principles and our economy is in crisis. Ron Paul is the only candidate thatpredicted the economic collapse - we need the teacher, not the student.

“There are only two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by sword, the other is by debt.” - John Adams

The solution to our debt crisis is less government and more freedom. We need regulatory relief, real spending cuts, and a balanced budget. This market-driven, not government-driven, solution is the path back to a flourishing economy and more jobs for Americans.”

When Ron Paul is President, he will:

    • Cut spending $1 Trillion in year one by eliminating 5 unnecessary bureaucracies (Energy, HUD, Commerce, Interior, and Education) and returning spending to 2006 levels.
    • Cut taxes by lowering the corporate tax to 15%, allowing companies to repatriate capital without taxation, and ending the death tax and taxes on personal savings.
    • Repeal ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
    • To stand with the American People, President Paul will take a salary of $39,336, approximately equal to the median personal income of the American worker.
    • Achieve a balanced budget by year three.

  • It doesn’t take a Genius… or does it??

“I’ll take a slice of toast”
    “just one?”
“well, you know what, give me a couple slices”
    “how many?”
    “a couple…?”
    “what, two, three slices?”
    “No! Just a couple!”

    Kill me.

A “couple” to just about everyone I’ve ever met equals two. A couple of pieces, a couple of cars, a couple of windows, a couple of idiots etc… When you refer to something being “coupled” it is joining TWO parts together, when you talk about a dating “couple” you are talking about two people romantically involved. What is it about asking for a “couple” of something that forces certain people to disconnect the word with it’s meaning?

I’ll continue with the toast comparison:

“I’ll have a slice of toast”
-a slice of toast, not only implies, but directly states that I’d like ONE slice of toast. I’ve never had a problem with this request.

“may I have a couple slices of toast?”
-This is where some people are confused, and I don’t understand it at all, they request that I clarify what a “couple” means!

    THIS IS A COUPLE:

“Maybe I’ll have a few slices of toast”
     -
NOW you can ask me to clarify! A “FEW” is anything MORE than one but in a small quantity.

Any of the above can be considered a “few” as they are all “more than one but in a small quantity”

I don’t understand why I have this endless conversation with people, it doesn’t make any logical sense!

Have you ever had a problem with this or is it just me???????

  • BREAKING: ARMED CHINESE TROOPS IN TEXAS

If you have never seen this 3-minute video before, it is a must see! (Just for the editing alone! I’ve never seen this done with words before!)

“Shutting down military bases and and ceasing to deal with other nations with threats and violence is not “isolationism” it is the opposite. Opening ourselves up to friendship, honest trade and diplomacy is the foreign policy of peace and prosperity.”

  • Someone has to say this:

    UGGLY.

It’s the only word for these horrible products honestly.

UGGS are the king of modern hideous trends. While they may be comfortable, I can’t fathom how they are fashionable.

I would like to point out that Crocs are also comfortable, and worn by many AND equally hideous, but absolutely NO ONE thinks they are “trendy.”

    thats all for now

  • How to turn cleaning the house into a sport!

I recently discovered the sheer power of my iPhone 4s as a video camera after receiving a tripod for Christmas from my fiance. Using a couple apps and finishing everything in Adobe Premiere (oh how I miss Final Cut Pro) I was able to create the amazing video you see below chronicling my adventures in housework. My personal favorite part of the whole video is Ice-Skating on the rug!

    enjoy.

  • Runtly the wonder puppy!!!

Just wanted to brag about my little girl!

This is the newest addition to our family, Runtly!

    Isn’t she great?????

If you haven’t met the other dogs, here is a post about Benjamin as well!

I guess I’ll update this to give you a little history of Runtly. She was born UNBELIEVABLY tiny, and as the runt of a litter of teacup chihuahuas we were seriously worried she wouldn’t make it. She grew on us really quickly. She was the first to walk, the first to open her eyes, the first one to eat solid food and the first one to bark. As people started claiming the other 4 dogs in the litter we just couldn’t let her go so we decided she would just have to be another addition to our family! The photo above was taken today and she weighs just under a pound! She didn’t even register on the scale the first time we took her to the vet and she has grown to, literally, about ten times her original size!!!!!
